Pick a Peony or Two

At the end of a suburban street in Richmond the houses give way to rural land and there is a Buddhist centre.  It is on land that once was a commercial peony garden.  Today they opened to the public and for $20 you could pick a blooming bucket full.  What a delight to wander among them and see the bees at work.  All the stages from closed buds to fully opened blowsy blooms were on display.
