An Awful Freak
A lobster then, so to speak,
Is, my child, an awful freak;
For if you get him in a stew,
He'll blush quite red and glare at you.
Yet if you eat much lobster salad,
It will make you very pallid.
Edwin C Rancks's The Lobster (2nd verse)
We grew up in the 1970s with this lobster - it probably had 2 antennae originally and I have no idea why my father had this oversized plastic lobster and the accompanying crab (now lost I believe) which as children we used to wave menacingly at our siblings and friends. It now resides in my kitchen and whilst I forget it is there, visitors are always slightly startled/repulsed by it. I'm rather fond of this 'awful freak'....
I'm hoping to get a photography lesson this weekend. My little Ixus seems fine for outdoor shots in good light (like the Isis Sculls one) where my lack of skill is less evident, but indoor shots, are pretty poor quality.
