Buddies
Today didn't start so well, the youngest locked himself in the bathroom as I was taking a shower in the other bathroom - so I came out to have the eldest desperately trying to tell me something, then I realised what had happened.....there I was dripping wet, with a wailing child the other side of the locked door. So I did the only sensible thing I could think of - phoned my husband (on his way to a meeting, in the car with his boss), it didn't really help, and only really delayed anything actually happening to help. In the end, I went next door, got the neighbour (still in his pyjama's) and he came and lent his slightly more significant weight than mine to the problem and shoved the door open, breaking the lock and knocking over the youngest at the same time. We're a little indebt to our neighbour. The youngest clung to me for about 10 minutes in tears after the event, poor little thing.
After this little drama, we got on with our day, which was to meet a friend near Daventry and walk a cross-country course with my friend, who is eventing both days this weekend. We managed to have a picnic overlooking the course, and walk the course with no major drama's (although one welly boot was lost, then found, and her pushchair had a flat tyre, needed a quick plan b working out). It was so nice seeing the boys together again, I took this picture of the two eldest as my friend went off on the great welly boot hunt.
