A strange sky

The group of hunters here now are big snack eaters and have depleted our supply of potato chips (crisps) and cookies(biscuits in the UK) so I made that long drive to the grocery store in Craig, 60 miles away. 

I was glad I went as the sky was ominous with rain/snow clouds down lower.  The light was really weird like being under a gauzy piece of net or something...just so soft.    I passed this area coming back but had to turn around as I wanted to get this red barn.  The dark blue area in the background are mountains that are completely hidden by the "clouds".  It was not raining or snowing so I could not figure out what was going on.  Thankful there were no cars coming either way so I could stop in the road and get my photos. 

It is supposed to snow later tonight and probably most of the day tomorrow and some on Monday.   I hope it does snow so I can get a few more snow photos.   One of my best friends loves snow (and we don't get much at home) so I thought I would make her a calendar for next year with nothing but snow photos..even for the summer months!
