Mineral surprise

We've been clearing the attic at the late inlaws' house for weeks now and are still finding new (or rather old)  stuff. One of those was this geode rock with its crystals inside.  Unfortunately there was not enough light today to show the soft lavender colour of the crystals. Nature is so amazing !

I wonder what kind of natural surprises be they organic, mineral or any other natural source you can find to capture and/or edit to be an abstract for this coming Thursday's Abstract Thursday challenge. So the optional theme will be 'natural surprise' and the tag will be AT124
