On our second day in Milan we headed to the Navigli district on the tram. It had been recommended to me by a friend and it didn't disappoint. Great vintage shops, an abundance of restaurants, a cool vibe about the place - it was really worth the trip. We had lunch there and a wander around the shops. Mum bought a couple of pairs of Italian shoes (in an amazing, old-school shop in the centre of the district). We headed back towards the town centre on the tram, not before finding a great wee sweet shop, like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, on the way. It was floor to ceiling with all different types of sweets, chocolates and biscuits. We will definitely have to go back with my other little nieces!

We had to get to our hotel that afternoon and then get the train out to the airport. From there we taxied to our "airport hotel" for the night - it was about 15 minutes' drive away from the fecking airport and cost us 25 euro!! - and settled in for the night with a wee celebratory bottle of champers for mum :)
