Before and After

I went on a tour of some NSEA* stream restoration sites today, led by the Executive Director, Rachel, pictured here. The photos on the board she's holding show this creek as it was in 1994 -- a treeless ditch! The puny trees and bushes that were planted twenty years ago have been a major factor in creating what is now a beautiful salmon spawning stream. 

The fish will return in a few weeks time, when enough has rain has fallen to raise the water level.
