Gone to Seed?

There's not much in flower in the garden now, and what there is is very bedraggled.  I picked this stem of cerinthe in the hope of finding some seed in it for next year, and, since nothing else suggested itself, by default it is my blip for today. 

It's a mystery how it comes to be in the garden - I certainly didn't sow it this year. But it's always welcome, I like its blue green leaves and the strange purply-pinky-bluey flowers.
