A Killing Frost...
As predicted, the temperatures last night went into the teens, killing off what was left in my garden. It had to happen, of course, but still... I am already planning next year's plantings in my head.
And speaking of heads...today's blip is just s humble seed head, from a coneflower that is long past it's bloom. I always leave these spiky seed heads in the garden over the winter because the finches love them and will snack on them until every last spiky seed is gone. Plus, I think they are kind of cool looking. The monotone look is simply a function of the very muted fall colors behind the coneflowers.
Had lunch with one of my besties (Ellen) today - we enjoyed grilled calamari, burrata and seared scallops along with many laughs. I do feel so incredibly lucky to have such wonderful women in my life. I have so much history with my 3 besties.
I am thinking I'll blip a bird tomorrow, but one I've never blipped before. Stay tuned...
