Swimming With the Fishes, er...Stingrays

We went to the Newport (Kentucky) Aquarium this morning, getting there at the 10 a.m. opening time. It is situated on the banks of the Ohio River.

Sharks and gators and fishes of all kinds. Merrick wanted me to go with him in the tunnel under the stingray pool, but it has a ceiling clearance of only 3 feet...so there was NO WAY that I was going in there. In fact...it gives me the heebie-jeebies just writing about it. Can you spell claustrophobia?

A fun, but expensive morning, and I have the same mixed feelings about aquariums that I do about zoos.

We visited with Faye twice today, and will see her tomorrow again before heading for home.
