Beach Huts
My sister, mum and I all went for a walk in North Berwick today, first up the Law then down by the harbour. We also took in the town museum, which was very interesting. I especially enjoyed our walk around town after the museum, as we had learned so much about the history of the places we visited. For example, these beach huts now stand in the place which used to be an enormous outdoor swimming pavilion. We also went to the 1st and 2nd sites of the old St Andrews kirks. It was surprising to learn how many people came via North Berwick on pilgrimages to St Andrews across in Fife, but makes perfect sense when you think about how it would have been quicker at that time to travel by boat than over land.
The extra is a moustachioed gate I spotted on the way up the Law. It made me giggle and I thought it very fitting for Movember.
