Sun Power
Off with the dogs for the morning walk in Erkheim. Left home in thick fog. Had to pop in to GP surgery to get another blood test done. Last week Doc wanted to have iron "back checked" on a sample taken earlier but turned out on Friday that the original sample had been tipped away or sold on Ebay.
Dracula bit done, did the walk around the sports centre and passing the riding clubs premises where a vegetable wholesaler delivers sacks of "unsaleable" carrots on Tuesdays for anyone who has popped an envelope in a letter box with €6 (25kg I think) All the bent and buckled and twisted ones, the too large and too small "unfit" for human consumption ones!!!
Back to car, pick up carrots and deposit money for next week. Supermarket to fill up car at their much cheaper own brand prices than the Shell at the motorway exit, especially against their V-Power Super Racing Diesel. In the supermarket, winter fat wild bird food as temperature due to drop to -5°C tonight and barely get over 0°C during the next few days. Also some Italian "Ceci" - Kichererbsen in German and chick peas most other places. Found them squeezed between the Borlottie and White of Spains. My heart goes out to friend Walter Bianchi an ex-colleague, Italian living & working in Jax, Florida (call him if you want a mortgage). Italy's departure from the World Cup Finals last night will be drowned in wine tonight at his part owned/hobby restaurant on Jax Beach (the best Italian place - Gusto)
Thinking positively, cold = sun. Our PV started producing some decent energy today, first time for a week and the ski lift people can get the snow cannons in to operation according to a report on the radio. Oberstdorf and the Kleinwalsertal, where I was just a few weeks ago in glorious warm sunshine with EvelyneNC and Tochterpleach,
All the time the fog had been clearing and the sun appearing. As I returned home to the south, saw the fascinating fog, low & high cloud and blue sky, all in one go. Had to photograph but it was only in the evening when reviewing the photos that I realised I should have done a Panorama shot.
With the help of a stitching programme which was far too complicated for me, did manage these two. I didn't trust myself to stitch these two as well but they are in fact almost a 110° view. From Sontheim on the top left in the North East to Attenhausen on the bottom right in the South East. In the north the fog had been burnt away but in the south there was still some remaining supported by the very big clouds over the Alps.
As yesterday did an evening walk with the dogs but even later and darker than yesterday's and a lot colder but somehow quite pleasant without the rain and drizzle.
