(A backblip)
The boat trip along the west and north coast of Kaua’I was spectacular. After a short time snorkelling we watched flying fish speeding quickly above the water, dozens of Spinner Dolphins putting on somersault displays and we saw some of the endangered Green Turtles swimming past. The sea became rougher as we sailed past the magnificent 17 mile long Napali coast. As it is inaccessible by road it would be a very long tough hike to find the occasional sandy beach among the cascading waterfalls, deep narrow valleys and high jagged cliffs so it was good to see them by boat despite the rain.
