Forecast
Not the only one to have been caught out by the weather forecasters. Seems they are now using Fake News to get more popularity or perhaps the Russians have hacked their way in to the EUMETSAT system. Not an EU institution some Brexiteers might like to know, although they are adverse to any negative forecast at the best of times.
Forecast last night was for at least -5°C here and had entailed loads of work getting as much as possible frost proofed. But it barely made 0°C and not even a sign of ice on the car windows when I set off for Erkheim with the dogs.
Had got a call at 8:00am this morning from the GP. My blood test result from yesterday was seemingly a bit worrying. Normally after such a test , it's down to the patient to call a few days later to ask if all OK and indeed I had been told to call Thursday morning.
Even though GP closed on Wednesday for normal business, was asked to come by and pick up a prescription for iron ampulla and make an appointment to have one "infused" asap. I didn't bother asking for any more detail as I was pretty sure that it was a problem and had asked my internist back on 28 September to check it. Everything had conspired for this test and various further tries, to fail. I still have mild symptoms of the pinched neck nerve and other nerve symptoms. I mentioned this yesterday to the GP as he took the sample.
So got the prescription, made a date for Friday to have it infused - they don't like injecting it pure in to the veins nowadays and WhatsApp'd it to my chemist in Ottobeuren who replied the package would be there at midday. However now not in a rush so will pick it up tomorrow.
Dog walk but nearly got ploughed away by the Bliped vehicle who had seemingly also heard the false forecast. Had just unloaded dogs (not on leads) as it suddenly appeared and swept past to enter the yard just 10 metres from the car.
Walk went well but cold at 0°C with a very unpleasant head breeze. Not enough to even notice when it was at one's back. Luckily when we got home, the sun had got through the low cloud to make it, at least feel like, it was warmer.
Then made the mistake of fixing a water pipe that has been dripping in the cellar below the horse stables. Not funny messing about with water connections above your head with inadequate lighting. Took hours and I had to improvise a fix. Naturally all the piping has loads of insulation which had to be removed first and then replaced afterwards. And all the time water running down my hands and sleeves and various layers of clothing getting wetter.
Angie was in ´doors afternoon and photographed wild birds from the comfort of the sofa. Tele-lens and through a glass door, she again showed me off. I have made a collage of some of her shots and shown here as an extra - go big.
