Frank’s Law

The annual Scottish Politician of the Year Awards were held at Prestonfield House tonight, at which I was the guest of the Law Society.

I don’t go every year but this time I was shortlisted for the “big one” - Scottish Politician of the Year . The last time that happened to me was in 2002.

My fellow nominees were Ruth Davidson and Willie Rennie and Ruth won but the biggest cheer of the night went to Amanda Kopel who was rightly recognised for her campaign to secure “Frank’s Law” . In fact she got a standing ovation .

She is still campaigning too, using her moving speech to call for implementation before the current target date of 2019.
