I was...

...afforded a view of the sparkly Princes Street Gardens this evening whilst I waited hopefully at Platform 13 for a train to take me home.

Had arrived hoping for the 17:34, my Scotrail alert service having told me the 17:24 was cancelled. Turns out the 17:34 was cancelled too. The 18:04 was due to leave from platform 13...

It finally left at 18:20 from platform 15, a lot of people did a lot of walking between platforms this evening.

It left with 2 carriages...shorter than normal and carrying three trains worth of people, the 17:04 having been cancelled too!

There were a lot of unhappy people left at Haymarket and Edinburgh Park...as the two carriages left full...more than full.

The upside for those left is that I believe the 18:36 left more or less on time...so they had a shorter time to wait on the next one. Little consolation if you had been standing in the wasteland that is Edinburgh Park since 17h00 because you went for the 17:04 from Waverley.

Oh the joys of the commute!

Grateful to get home this evening, just before 20h00 and grateful to be home to a warm house. New boiler installed today.
