Lights at Waddesdon
It was a very busy day at Waddesdon Manor today - a lovely sunny day with the Christmas Fair in full swing, so a huge number of visitors. Tickets for entry to the House were sold out very early on and there were quite a few disappointed people who had travelled long distances and then couldn't get into the House. I can understand their irritation but the website plus signage at the entrance clearly states that a timed ticket is needed AND we have sold out for today!
The visitors I saw in the House were full of praise and the children were loving the 12 days of Christmas trail provided for them. The light display on the front of the House is spectacular and well worth seeing. I stood and watched it after my shift had finished today and thought it was marvellous. I will go another time with a different lens and do it properly - just the Lensbaby with me today..
The air crash last Friday had no effect on the day at all - staff there at the time were unaware that anything had happened! The effect on traffic though was horrendous and, even today, there are repercussions whilst a series of large pick-up trucks are being loaded and taking away debris from the incident.
