Dubai Marina

We stopped for a couple of nights in Dubai on our way back from Myanmar. It is amazing to see this enormous city of skyscrapers built in the desert. I particularly liked this twisted creation in Dubai Marina, which must give great views of the marina, the sea and The Palm complexes (a second 'palm' is being built out in the sea now). But I didn't really understand what all the hordes of tourists find to do there.
