A Touch of Gold...

These Californian Poppies and dry grasses are growing on the edge of the riverbank above a deep pool. The dark background is the water still in the shade very early this morning. I love the very early mornings on fine cloudless days such as today. The long light evenings are lovely too. But it would be nice to get some gentle rain during each night.
