2014 more running needed

Job done

Steve (using the camera) has now caught up with me at all 3 Kielder Marathons and today he wanted my take on being a volunteer with me not being able to run.

We had just done a piece for the film with the lake being the backdrop and these volunteers from Northumberland College taking a well-earned rest after staffing one of the water stations.

After I'd done my piece Steve wanted a shot of the group sitting looking out over the water.

My blip just had to be of Steve getting the shot.

It has been a pleasure and honour to be associated with the Kielder Marathon weekend, and my co-commentator, Matt Ward, was a pleasure to work with.

People were surprised we'd never worked together because the banter between us was great all day.

We started at about 7.45 this morning welcoming people to the event and even when we said we were taking a break we were given announcements to make, or found something else to say. We welcomed the final athlete home just before 6pm with her time of 7 hours 2 minutes (winning time was 2 hours 39 minutes.

We promised to welcome every athlete home and we delivered on our promise.

I'm back blipping on Monday night. Sleep was the priority on Sunday night.

Roll on next year
