The Hyde Family Jam

My meeting was over by 11.00am so I was free for a day in York. Used the Popplegate Park and Ride to get to the city where I walked around the city walls and mingled with the crowds in the streets, the Shambles Market and the Christmas Market.

Had fish and chips in Drakes in Low Petergate for a late lunch. My, it was a cold but mostly bright day except for later in the afternoon when a blustery shower bustled through.Saw the Hyde Family Jamat the Christmas Market, they were exuberant!

Caught the bus back to pick up the car to return it to Micklegate. All in all a very good experience with the hire company. The train left at 18.02, again I had an airline seat, fortunately with nobody beside me until Grantham. Between Grantham and Peterborough, I was squashed in. Lots of people got off at Peterborough allowing me to move to a free table seat for the remainder of the journey.

The train was 8 minutes late, scuppering my plans to catch an earlier train from Victoria - I arrived there 4 minutes after it had gone, meaning I had a further 20 minutes to wait for the slower stopper - which itself was late leaving and arriving at Bearsted.

Nevermind, got home ok and the outcomes of the trip were successful. Will probably have to do the same journey a few times in the coming months.
