Winter is coming

We awoke to sunshine this morning, and in the way that you can when no longer in gainful employment, decided to go out for a walk. To Great Asby Scar, in the newly extende Yorkshire Dales National Park. There was the first snow on the tops, and the frost lingered yet on the fells. The Highland Cattle were mooching about, and we saw 5 red grouse.
Some good news from Tom this evening. On the cusp of completing the purchase of their first house, the Budget has somehow worked in their favour and not only do they avoid Stamp Duty, they end up with a £5000 refund from the property developers!
It seems pretty improbable, but Tom has always had the luck of the family and this is just the latest example. Good for him!
