No biscuits, a butterfly instead!!

Furniture restoration classes have started again. I'm repairing G 'dad's old dining table. I thought that I would be asked to use "biscuits" to join one piece of wood to the other, but no! I've cleaned out the gap, glued and clamped it.

I'm going to insert a "butterfly" that bit of wood in the picture, after I've cut out the required hole!!!! Wish me luck, this will be a first. The one reassuring thing is that it is our table; if it belonged to someone else I would be scared of making a mess!!

B has done all the hard work stripping off the old polish and he will do the bulk of the restoration. :0)
