Confused?

Several of the hebes in the garden are flowering at the moment - this is one.

Why? They are summer bloomers, and the weather is not at all summery.

We had an unexpected invitation to a tea-dance this afternoon. I've never been to such a thing, and wondered if I should dress up. But the thought to going out in a thin frock was uninviting, so I settled for a smart pair of trousers, and that was the choice of all the other ladies present, bar one brave soul.  

We had live music, and a substantial buffet was served at the end.  Nothing left to do now but recover and get ready for a busy week ahead.
