Rose Window
Part of the Halifax Piece Hall project was to build a new library adjoining the Hall. This was also to incorporate the remains of Square Church which first opened in 1857 but closed in 1969. Disaster struck in 1971 when the roof and interior were destroyed by fire. Most of the remaining building was demolished in 1976, however the rose window, tower and spire survive and have a Grade II* listing.
I'm not a fan of the exterior design on the library (see extra), but the interior is stunningly modern and the way the architects have incorporated the rose window is commendable.
