First portents of autumn

The roses are the heralds of autumn. As the petals drop the hips appear and you know that it won't be long before the first frosts are creeping into the morning.

Even though at midday the temperature is still hovering above 22C, it is noticeably chilly as I leave to take classes at 8.00 am.

Pruning and cutting back the shrubs will take up the majority of the time for next week, next weekend brings Calonge and lunch with friends, also opportunities to compare the progress of the coastal garden with our more inland and colder clime.
