Life after death
This is a baby Stag horn sumac that i was about to shred for the compost heap when I noticed the tingy green shoots appearing on the otherwise dead looking stem.
The staghorn is my favourite tree, it is invasive, sprawling and thoroughly badly behaved. I try to have at least five growing in pots so that I can give them away to my friends ,so their gardens can be invaded like mine is. In the next few days I will post the superb autumn splendour of this show off plant in all its russet and crimson glory.
