Ho Ho HO

Dollar Winter Festival begins this evening with a visit from Santa who does a tour round the streets followed by a posse of helpers in Christmas jumpers and hi-viz jackets,  ringing bells and carrying collecting buckets.  You can feel the excitement in the air as  the local kids hop from one foot to the other, waiting for Santa to appear in their street.  Santa has a very powerful PA system and a Christmas Favourites sound track so you hear him coming quite a long time before he actually arrives.   Tomorrow is the Christmas Craft Fair. I will be manning a stall at the Fair for the Community Development Trust so looking forward to signing up some new volunteers as well as sampling the gluhwein.  Then we have a procession along the high street to gather at the Christmas tree, sing some carols and switch the tree lights on  :-))
