Route 66

I got my kicks on that lesser known stretch of Route 66 today, along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal between Shipley and Saltaire.

This was a slightly roundabout way of taking a turn at picking up the kids from school, but worth the detour. After a frosty start to the day it warmed nicely, but despite being near plenty of promising habitat, only one butterfly showed itself along my walk, a solitary Speckled Wood.
