Rehearsal

My pastry making skills are variable.  You know what I mean?  Sometimes it's lovely and crumbly.  Sometimes it's hard and pasty.  Sometimes it has a soggy bottom.  So with Christmas coming up, I decided I needed a rehearsal.  Mom and Dad and sister are coming for Sunday lunch tonight.  Don't ask!  I know it's Saturday.  So I thought I would have loads of time today to make a mincemeat and almond flan.  That was before we went round to Mom and Dad's and found things to do.  Like finding out how to return a faulty phone.  Why is nothing ever simple!  It only came out of the box yesterday!

Anyway, the oven is beeping at me, so I'd better go and check my soggy bottom...
