Mr White

Last time we went to Gilbert White's house the great man was standing on the staircase; on our return this evening he was in the parlour. This was probably because he - like us - was there for a candlelit concert by Tobiah Thomas and Colette O'Leary. It was a very intimate affair and rather lovely. I'm afraid I didn't manage to get a picture of the girls in action, which is a shame as the area they were performing in was very nicely decked out in festive greenery and fairy lights. Tobiah lives locally, in Midhurst, and is a very talented singer/songwriter/guitarist. Colette has been the All Ireland piano accordion champion (if that's the word) no less than three times. So, I was in my element this evening, especially as there was mulled wine and mince pies too. Mr DA coped with it very well although, unfortunately, when we got to sing along to the last song and I mouthed at him the words "not you" he didn't notice. He and Gilbert White bear a striking resemblance to each other so perhaps it's time to re-check his family tree.

Anyway, some beautiful music to which here are links, if of interest:  Tobiah and Colette.
