All is calm . . .All is bright
I thought this Christmas fairy had a peaceful look to her as if she was patiently waiting to see who would buy her. This is at my sisters Christmas shop. The other end of the shop is selling raspberries, asparagus, new potatoes. Today was day three of selling raspberries. My nephew said they are two weeks earlier than last year. He is hoping he will still have enough to fill orders for Christmas. I watched as he taught new sorters to identify the raspberries to pack in the punnets and which ones should be left for jam. This is a holiday job for senior high school students who have finished their exams. The pickers in the field are a family group who have come to New Zealand from Afghanistan. They have worked for him for several years now.
After catching up with the family news it was a hot trip back to Richmond. There was new seal on the highway in several places and the tar was melting in the sun and the stone chips were flying. The stop go people were improvising ways to keep cool and some had umbrellas to stand under or wide brims attached to their high-viz helmets.
At ten past ten tonight the super moon had appear behind the trees on our hill.
