Surprisingly photographing birds...

... can be a lot like street photography.

When I'm out on the streets and see an interesting situation, I find it frequently pays to take more than one shot; it is often the second or third shot that is the best. 

So this morning at Harlow Carr, I was photographing this little fella and took a few shots - the second of which was by far the best, when he sensed something his head shot up to attention.

It was very cold today but also great conditions for photographing the perpetually hungry robins (see extra).
