Brugge

Penny and I got up at 5am and drove down to Folkestone to catch the 7.40am channel tunnel train to Calais. I thought I had booked a hotel in Blankenberg (Belgium) on Tuesday but when I checked my booking.com account, I couldn’t find it. Luckily, the hotel had one room left and I booked it whilst on the train. It took an hour and a half to drive to Blankenberg but it was difficult to get to ththe hotel by car because of all the one way roads. We decided to park the car on the promenade and walk to the hotel. We checked in and then caught the train to Brugge. It was so busy there and really, really cold. We were both quite tired around 3pm so we found a bench to sit on at the museum. I fell asleep and when I woke up, Penny was fast asleep. We then walked around the town a little more and then found a restaurant around 6pm called Filet Pur. They had a roaring fire there and we were soon toasty warm. The place was fab and the food really good. We then made Our way back to the train station and headed back to the hotel in Blankenberg. We are both really tired tonight. Snow is forecast for tomorrow and I hope it’s not too heavy as it may impact on our journey back home.
