Anni Mamundi

Notta....

..Not a Robin!

Though I was sorely tempted.
The robin has become a habit.
I pop down the garden every day, with my little stooltosittupon, a handful of breadcrumbs, house keys, some warm gloves and a load of patience.
I confess that hardly a day goes by without my having to trudge back to the house because I've forgotten one of those items (!).
This morning, it was snowy but bright. The robin (I could hardly believe my eyes) was waiting for me on the wall. It waited whilst I delved into my pockets for food, and then ate.
I took a few images but it was too close (!) and I only had one hand free.
Later in the day I popped out again.
This time I was rewarded with images of the robin in heavy snow.
The blue evening light, when it snows, is my favourite time in The Whole Wide World.
It's Time in A Bottle (to quote Jim Croce).
I could sit forever in the snow and just...
..Oh, I don't know, dream of poetry.

I should really post an extra of the robin, up to its skirts in snow, with a bit of delicate, accessorising ice on the beak.

In other news, I wrote the bulk of my Christmas cards today.
There could surely be no more festive time to write them, than when you're snown-in?! :-)
