'Dreaming Spires'

I've never really looked at the giraffe sculpture outside the Omni Centre at the top of Leith Walk before - "... - a People who live between earth and skies..." as the poem by Roy Campbell which surrounds it describes.

I looked this up via Google when I got home. The brochure on Helen Denerley's work at her website shows all sorts of truly amazing scrap-metal-sculptured animals (at www.helendenerley.co.uk). Check out the stag in particular...

I am never again just going to wonder why the giraffes are there - just enjoy them for the work of art which they are!
