"What's happened to the water...?!"

It was decidedly chilly this morning so I included Killingworth Lake in my morning walk to see if it was frozen over. Indeed it was - most of it anyway. This poor gull seemed a bit confused about it all.

The extra shows that the coots were getting in a bit of a flap about it too. The cygnet, however, seemed to be taking it in its stride and was looking rather scornfully at the excited coots.
