Homeward Bound
A day later than anticipated, we have returned home. 246 miles, a six hour journey. From Chievely to Cheshire, but especially from near Warwick northwards when we had clear blue skies, it all looked like a winter wonderland. Not like our usual pre Christmas weather, and even better than all the snow scene Christmas cards.
Our favourite sign is shown here - we’ve always called it the white rabbit, it announces our journey around the West Midlands.
And we know we are near home as we cross the Thelwall viaduct. Westwards the steam plumes rose over Fiddlers Ferry, hopefully helping us all keep warm on this freezing night. We are back in the north.
My Mum in law’s passing has involved lots of emotion, travel, sorting and paperwork. It has meant we have done little at all to prepare for Christmas. Oh well !
