We made it

Our flight left Gran Canaria at 1740, an hour and three quarters late. No hot food on board and a very angry pilot regarding the incompetence of staff at Birmingham airport.

We arrived at Birmingham airport at 2150 but didn’t get off the plane for half an hour due to lack of staff.

Arrived in the baggage hall at 2235.
People from Madeira had already been waiting 3 hours for their luggage.

Luggage arrived at 0205.

Got a taxi at 0235.

At hotel 0245 and in room 5 minutes later.

This morning it took almost an hour to get the car roadworthy but we are now safely home and a friend had been in to turn up the heating, so we are very tired but toasty warm.
