Too big for a pocket

This basketball was sitting on this bench when we walked by. One attempted dribble showed us why, maybe. No bounce.

Later on the walk my mom asked why she made more noise than I did. I said that she was dragging her feet and that she could try to lift them more. I suggested she try not to make any noise when she walked. After a few steps she said it was hard and that it made her go deep into her very being, or something like that. I am going to have to start taking a notebook with me to capture some of her interesting explanations.

Divorced about 35 years ago, she also said, "I don't think this marriage thing is going to work out."
