Time Is Sometimes On My Side
I'm quite obsessed with time. Well, maybe obsessed is too strong a word but it sometimes seems that a large part of my life is taken up with making sure I'm either not late for meetings or appointments and/or worrying and stressing when others are. I'm also quite fanatical about planning and I tend to approach anything that needs to be organised with what can only be described as military precision. Now, this personality trait is a Godsend when it comes to work but it's an altogether different kettle of fish when it comes to my private life.
My plans for this weekend have had to be rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances and this has made me a little despondent to say the least. However, I've leapt into action and cancelled my rail ticket (a full refund has been obtained) and I've had verbal confirmation of the rebooked hotel so my new weekend is at least now looming on the horizon once more.
It's a strange thing because I'm not a worrier by nature and cope very well in times of crisis but I just can't seem to break the pattern (or is it a habit) of stressing over punctuality and planning. Any tips on how to cope better would be gratefully received!
Today's blip is the clock tower on the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh which is always set around 5 minutes fast to allow the bad timekeepers of the city to catch their trains at Waverley Station on time. Of course, this tends to work in reverse at Hogmanay when Edinburgh holds its world famous street party in Princes Street as some revellers tend to celebrate the dawning of a new year just a little too early. Oh well, start as you mean to go on I say.
Anyway, it's now 1345 and I've got a deadline to meet............................. Catch you all on the other side.
Ps A bit hacked off the time on the clock face isn't bang on 1230. By the way, did I mention my obsession with detail................
PPs This is what I see on my thumbnauls. I love it! Kinda Daliesque don't you think?
