Stages 2 and 3

The cake was baked last month before we went on holiday and I nearly forgot it was lurking in the cake tin:-)  

Second stage this morning was to coat it with apricot jam and the third stage was to cover it with marzipan, prior to icing it tomorrow.  I have no finesse with baking, so you can see the fingermarks and dents I made in the top!  However, I'm sure it will taste delicious (she says with fingers crossed!)

The afternoon was spent writing all the cards while listening to cheesy Christmas music - a real tradition with us.  TJ has also got the decorations down from the loft and we are now falling over the boxes lining the hallway, so must get on with that soon.

Very cold out and rain has washed away frosty snow, but left slippy ice in its place, so I didn't go anywhere.  Would much rather have deep snow to this ice.
