11.9C with almost full cloud cover and breezy. Rain started the day and more rain is forecast for later and through the night.

Maeve the Deerhound and I went for our walk just after 1 o'clock. We noticed that the field across the road has been completely cleared of all straw bales and that ploughing has been started. The plough was lying on the far side of the field and no tractors were around so no more ploughing today. In the field with the bridle path the farmer has finished making all his bales, but a lot are still spread out over the bottom half of the field.

Maeve and I wandered along the cycle path and as we approached the gate to the field with the sheep we heard the audible warning indicating a train was speeding South towards the level crossing. The warning sounded again as the train came into sight and I was glad to hear the warnings today. We went through the field and over the level crossing then towards the beach. I stopped before going down onto the sand and took a picture to record how different everything looked today under the blanket of cloud.

The sand was damp today and very soft. We plodded slowly along the beach towards the Fishermen's huts. As we approached the huts I could see the owner of 'Shamara II' talking to one of the other men. Maeve and I stayed on the sand as the now full creel rack had taken our attention as a source of a blip :-)

Everywhere felt quieter today. Very few people out and about.

Later we expect it to get dark very early.
