Crested Grebe

Wonderful day out with Rainie and My Three Sons today looking to photograph the crested Grebes and the lupins.
Sadness at the first nest that we knew where to find and a predator had been in overnight and killed the adult bird in its nest. Went round to other end of the lake and found a pair nest building. They were in a most difficult spot and all dappled light but we persevered and got some shots. No way we could use a tripod and sitting on the damp ground with a heavy lens was hard work. However I feel very lucky that at my age I can still do it.
We then got a few lupin shots but they are passed there best. Picnicked looking out over the lake what a special day it was. Will put some more in extras
