Crow Nest Park, Dewsbury
FRIDAY
There had been rain overnight which had frozen hard and the driveway at home and lane had become a skating rink. I didn't even attempt to grit the driveway.
At 6:50 am I walked and slid the mile or so down to the bus stop at West Vale and hopped on the Huddersfield bus. After breakfast in Costa Coffee I was sat at my desk by just after eight.
A trip to Dewsbury and Batley this morning. This is a shot of one of the shelters at Crow Nest Park, Dewsbury. It was taken around 11:00 am and the lake was still frozen solid.
The shelters were originally glazed and were erected around the lake in the 1920s.
An afternoon in the office. A drink in the Plumbers' Arms with work colleagues (a number are leaving this week) followed by a superb Christmas meal at the Apadana Persian restaurant.
