Interesting run this morning.
parkrun was cancelled because of ice so we thought we might fair better running at Tentsmuir as it's by the sea. However, the paths were main paths were icy so we avoided the worst by running out on the beach and mud (the tide was out!). Even this was icy in places where it doesn't get much sea over it at this time of year and the route was extremely wiggly trying to avoid the ice and larger puddles.
Coming back the little paths in the forest were best (esp if covered with pine needles) as even the sandy ones were frozen and route picking needed to be done carefully. Despite the hazards I enjoyed it and went further than intended. The 2nd extra shows ice on the beach and the tide covering some of where we'd run earlier.
This afternoon we bought the Christmas tree and then went to celebrate grandson no 4's birthday. He's 3 on Christmas Eve and his cake was a volcano (see extra)
