Between fen and mountains

Straight from the field

I had been hoping to catch the grower in the pick up van for a while as I walk past his neat rows of vegetables each day and have to resist the temptation to pluck a few leaves from the side of the road.  Today I got chatting to him and he tells me he just cultivates the two acres of charity land as a retirement hobby and income supplement.  He sold me a carrier bag full of curly kale and what posh people call cavolo nero but which we call black kale, all for 25p! That will save a trip to the market tomorrow.
I got my head around the new computer system at Citizens Advice in the morning.  I think it will be an improvement when I get really used to it.
