Christmas on Ice
After spending some of the morning supermarket shopping (early enough to miss the mass crowds which apparently made it take an hour to vacate the car park later; but still absolutely hooching, especially at the tills) it was nice to head into town for lunch at a new seafood place, which even manages to stamp its logo onto the big blocks of ice in their cocktails (yes, a cocktail, at lunchtime - time to relax).
Isla has donned her Christmas collar (in the extra), and we're 95% of the way there with everything (though Mel changed her mind on us having our own mini-Christmas, as we don't get it to ourselves) with an exchange of one present each after we put the tree up - just means we have to wait for the big day itself).
Found out later that my old Latin teacher and debating coach from school has died. She'd have been in her late 80s at least, probably in her 90s, and I haven't seen her in 20 years. But even so she was a big part of my formative years. A really big part (even if she did tend to favour my debating partner, then two in another pairing, before getting round to me), and it's truly sad to hear of her passing.
Aveto Mrs Burr.
