Anniversary Walk
Today is our 36th wedding anniversary, and we had super weather for it. Six of us went for a walk this morning to Saint Anthony Head which is at the end of the Roseland Peninsula where we are staying. This cove (Porthbeor) is very close to the cottage, but the steps down to it have been badly damaged, and it's not advisable to clamber down there.
I had forgotten to pack the anniversary card that I had bought for C although I did remember his present. He had remembered his card for me and two presents also - so he's feeling rather smug.
One couple that we are with (C's brother's partner's daughter and her boyfriend - can you follow this?) live in a pretty thatched cottage in the hamlet that we are staying in, and her brother is staying with them, and we are in a rented cottage with the other couple (C's brother and his partner).
Most of the others have spent much of the afternoon on a jigsaw puzzle. Unfortunately two pieces fell on the floor and Hector had sucked and chewed them before we noticed. That'll be fun when they get almost to the end!
We're all eating at the other cottage tonight, and they've even created a printed menu of cocktails for us to choose from!
There will be a Skype session to our family in Taiwan at about midnight (8 am there) so that we can "be with them" while they all open their Christmas presents. Sadly that's now our traditional way of spending Christmas Eve - but at least we get the pleasure of seeing them with their presents.
