Accompaniment
As the light faded Andy and I opened up the miniature bottles of Madeira that we purchased on our holiday (in Maderia!) in March. We'd forgotten about them but it was the perfect moment to sit down and enjoy them whilst we watched the twinkling lights of the Christmas tree and listened to Carols from Kings.
Thinking of loved ones no longer with us today and being grateful for all that I have including a warm home and loving family around me. Christmas Eve was always such a special day when I was younger - the family together, sharing stories and good food, laughing and joking. My role was to walk the dog and to make minced pies and mulled wine for everyone as we listened to the Carols from Kings in front of the fire.
Earlier today we saw a black cap on our bird feeder. A real treat.
Tonight we shall watch the film 'The Light Between Oceans' following on from watching 'Lion' last night - which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and my thanks for being my 'blip friends'.
